I got my iPod! People laughed that I would register at freeipods.com, but from 6 weeks of having this link on my website, they got enough business from my site that I got a $299 iPod! I'll get up a picture as soon as I can.

First off, no, I don't have my freeipod yet. You'll be the first to know. I'm not even sure how much I want an ipod, I just want this business model to work.

But colinandbethany radio is now basing its predictions on over 7000 songs, and is becoming more popular. That means it is becoming more accurate, and is somewhat like listening to my hard drive. The main difference is in its having a distinct initial selection from me. But, to answer the most common questions:

1. Yes, it makes you choose a username and password; but No, it doesn't require an email address or any other info. So do it.
2. You don't have to download the audioscrobbler plugin. The plugin just allows the server to factor in not only what you've listened to on my station, but also CDs and MP3s you've listened to offline, which in turn makes future listening more accurate.
3. No, your stats don't update instantly. It may take weeks. Welcome to a free service.
4. Tell me if you've been on there (by tagging here on the left, or on the discussion boards, or PMing me, or IMing me, or emailing me, or calling me), so I can add you to my friends on there.

As an aside, I uploaded two CDs Kim made for our family a few years ago (and didn't make for publishing), and over 20 people across the world have now listened to them. She doesn't approve of my uploading them, but I'll trust she won't sue me. 20 people isn't enough to declare any statistical correlations to other artists, but Kit Lange and Allison Crowe are evolving as seeming to have a statistically significant number of fans in common with Kim.
