Still haven't chosen a new job, but have had a ton of really really impressive referrals and offers. So the ball's in my court. Thank you all. Bethany's Blog is going really really well. Let me take a moment, however, to plug whomever drafted this Google Sketchup (Google Earth 3D Building) for the Salt Lake Temple:

Colin leaves Pinnacle Learning Center / Kimber Academy
Make Us Move Contest!
Friday, February 23, 2007
Every successful business, every successful organization, every successful marriage—no exceptions—has certain roles which must be filled. Probably in your family one of you is, by personality, an artist and one is an accountant. Running any successful organization there must always be a leader and a manager, a CEO and a President, a visionary and a grindstone worker. Both are necessary and no one can do both. No organization has ever lasted long without this balance. Covey dichotomized it by saying the President of a lumber company is in charge of cutting down a tree as quickly as possible and for the least possible money, while the CEO chooses which tree to cut down. So never take a job from a company with a “President & CEO”—it won’t last. When I became Administrator of the Pinnacle Learning Centers, I realized that I was a leader finishing an MBA in Leadership (not Management), and that I was taking over for a leader (not a manager). I knew that I could build a school, get us in the news and at the top of the rankings, and get the Spirit here everyday—especially for other leaders in the room. But I also knew that certain needs would not be met with me solely at the helm. There are teachers who I have allowed to not turn in their lesson plans to me in advance, parents whom I didn’t call if they missed parent meeting, and devotionals that consistently started past 8 am. So while I felt the Spirit everyday there, there are a number who didn’t—who can’t think in such perceived right-brained chaos. For the most part, these aren’t good or bad, rather personality types defined before birth. Therefore, whereas there were people who joined the school partially because of the direction I was taking it, there were also those who dropped out for the same reason. (Luckily there have always been more dropping in than out.) But the imbalance was becoming increasingly obvious, so I sought out and hired a manager to balance me. Over the last month, I have been increasingly impressed to transfer more responsibility to her. She became the Dean of Education. Still, with such a distorted surplus of my style, I have decided that I can add the most value to the school through making her the Administrator. That is the whole story, so please don’t allow yourself to polarize that something is wrong. It’s all spirit-driven and positive.
So, for those interested, my resume is here.
I've had my feelers out for a coupla' days now, and already have a list of interested parties.
So I hereby announce a contest: if you find me a job, Bethany and I will move out to where you are!

William Delos Jensen, Colin's paternal grandfather passed away yesterday. He was nearly 97 years old and missed his late wife very much. Colin's parents, sisters, and nephew will be here for the funeral this weekend and we're looking forward to seeing them.
